The following programs do not require an installation. Just decompress the .zip archive in any directory of your choice.
These programs (written in C#) work with all version of Windows. If your system is Windows XP or older, they require the Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 or higher.
All programs are freeware.

Right-click for contextual menu access.
Move and size the window to the desired location, and select the "Capture" command for a region capture of the screen, or the "Full Screen" command for a full capture of the screen.
Save the capture with the "Save" command; png format (by default) gives a perfect result. The "Clear" command erases the capture.
You can easily capture and manipulate a screen portion, e.g., compare two texts or two images.
The "Show All" command shows the full menu and all commands.

The "Thumbnail..." command allows you to save a thumbnail (or a enlargement) of the capture (with 2 methods).
Image effects (Lighten, Darken, GrayScale, Invert, Contrast, Color, RGB ...) and special effects (Selective GrayScale, Color To Transparent, Psychedelic, B/W Sketch, Color Emboss...)
are available with the "Effects" menu. Multi-level Undo and Redo are also available.
By double-click, if CaptureScreen is your image editor by default, you can open and edit images and saved captures.
In "More Commands" menu, you can use the "Open and Mix" or the "Capture and Mix" commands, to mix and merge images and captures.
The "Transparent Mode" command preserves the window and the image in transparency: you can use the capture like a tracing paper.
The "No Border Mode" command allows you to hide window's border; you can open by example several instances of CaptureScreen to make a photomontage.
All image effects are available in a selection rectangle with the "Selection Mode".
The "CaptureScreen Options" allows you to set and save user settings (Hotkeys for menus commands, Run in "No Border Mode", Transparency, Delay Time, JPG Quality...).
The "JPG Quality" Options allows you to reduce the file size of the image (saved in JPG/JPEG format).
Settings and are also automatically saved to a text file, when closing the application.
News: By double-click you can now open with CaptureScreen an image (with or without window's borders). Multi-level Undo and Redo are now available.
A better method to get thumbnail is available with this version. A Hotkeys list (custom) is saved when closing CaptureScreen.

Video player to view video image by image (AVI and WMV).
It works good if the "Speed Play" menu (Fast, Normal, Slow) are enabled (see contextual menu).
For all video files, you can set with precision the position in the video stream ("Set Position..." button).
For a capture of image in a video, right-click for contextual menu access, select "Options", click on the "Performance" tab and slide the "Video Performance - Hardware Acceleration" tab down, all the way to none.
Reset the video parameters after the capture.
This program requires the Windows Media Player 9 or later. This program works with all version of Windows. If your system is Windows XP or older, it requires the Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 or higher.
You can test the program with Ferrari.avi (1.36 MB).
Image viewer (windows size = image size). With the contextual menu, or by double-click if ImageOpen is your image viewer by default, you can open an image (jpg, png, bmp, ico, tif ...),
and you can start a slideshow in the selected folder.
Click on image to view next image (or "Next" - Alt+Right arrow). Select "Previous" (Alt+Left arrow) to view previous image. The "Slideshow" command allows you to start a diaporama;
the "Faster" and "Slower" commands sets the duration of the timer.
Select "Top" so that ImageOpen always stays on top of the others windows. For the very large images, you can select "Open with IE" to view the image in Internet Explorer.
The "No Border" command allows you to hide window's border (e.g. to view icons in real size).
News: By double-click you can now open with ImageOpen an image. This version also adds 3 news commands: "Slideshow", "Faster", "Slower".

Ping program; useful to test your connection. Enter a web address or a valid host name, e.g. http://www.google.com or google.com, or a valid IP address, e.g. 98.137.149.56 (IPv4) ,[2a00:1450:8006::93] (IPv6).
The IP addresses are converted into host names and conversely. An empty input gives local IP address.
The button "Options..." opens the WinPing options: Infinite Loop (runs pings in a infinite loop and shows the average in real time), Time options (Timeout, Temporisation between every ping in milliseconds),
Multiping (for several pings one after the other), Retries, Average of the response times, Hostname List, ip-to-country File...
Sort and Replace utilities will allow you to edit and save host name list, countries list or any text file.
The "Auto-Save" option will allow you to save thousands of lines of pinging information (in Infinite Loop Mode).
A Ping Graph (with axis scale and Y-offset adjustment) allows you easily view, in real time, Average and Pings points for every loop.
You can easily save and load the Ping Curves using the Graph Options.
This version updates ping error messages, and updates IP address pinging. Now you can ping an IPv6 address, and you can show all resolved IP addresses of a domain name.

Traceroute program; useful to view the routing information of a Web site (informations displayed: IP address, response time, hostname and country).
Enter a Web address or a valid host name, e.g. http://www.google.com or google.com, or a valid IP address, e.g. 72.14.207.99.
The button "Options..." opens the WinTrace options: timeout, host name list, ip-to-country file. Sort and Replace utilities will allow you to edit
and save host name list, countries list or any text file.
This version adds a Resolve IP Addresses option and updates the database "IP-To-Country".

HTML Web page viewer (without using a Web browser). This is a useful tool to view the HTML code for a dubious Web site.

Lists the most recently modified files in a selected folder ("My Documents" folder by default).
For example, after a Windows startup, this program is useful to list the modified files in a system folder.
Select a folder: you can use the "Folder" button or the "Current search folder" textbox;
choose a time (1 hour by default) and run search with the "Find" button.
The list of the found files is sorted by name and by time.
A double-click in the listing selects the current line and opens the folder containing the name of the file.
The "Options" button opens FFT options (files and folder filter, attributes filter, show current search folder...).
If you choose the "file/folder counter" option, you can use FFT like a fast file counter.

Enter a web address ,a host name or any name: e.g. http://www.google.com, google.com or google, http://百度.中国, http://россия.рф.
IP addresses are also accepted, e.g. 200.181.196.95 (IPv4), [2002::4a7d:e650] (IPv6).
A "Replace" utility will allow you to edit and replace the countries names.
This version updates the "Whois Servers" files (top-level domain, whois server names, geographic type names); it updates the countries names for Domains hack (like speed.cd, bit.ly,...).
The program now accepts IPv6 addresses and Internationalized domain names.
This program works with Windows XP, Vista, 7. It requires the Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.0.
Displays informations about a domain name's server or a web page's server.
Enter a web address or a valid host name, e.g. http://www.microsoft.com or microsoft.com. The CheckBox "html" displays html code of the home page of the selected domain name.

Program to create thumbnails of Web pages.
Choose a image format (400 x 300, jpg by default) and enter a Web address; run program, the thumbnail is saved in the "Images" folder (by default).
Web-Thumb gives good results for the big majority of the Web pages.
You can also use this program to test a web page with different screen resolutions:
e.g. set the Web-Thumb Browser size to 1440 x 900 and set the Thumbnail size to 400 x 250.
The "Show" button shows the Web-Thumb Browser and the current size.
The "Stop" button stops the loading of the Web page in Web-Thumb Browser. The "Save Now" button saves the thumbnail in progress.
The "Options..." button opens Web-Thumb options (saved folder, size of Web-Thumb Browser, format of image file name, scrollbars in thumbnail).

Easy program to sniff and view IP packets (TCP, UDP, ICMP).
PacketViewer allows you to view IP packet messages and IP packet informations in real time.
You can easily listen on Windows system ports (Eg. Ports 135, 445, 1026-1028).
An IP Converter tool allows you to convert IP Addresses to Host Names.
The button "Options..." opens the PacketViewer options:

View hard drive temperature and receive alerts if temperature exceeds programmed value.
DiskAlarm allows you to view and to be alerted of temperature of your hard drive in real time.
Sounds and visual alarms are activated if the temperature exceeds the programmed value.
Temperatures are displayed in Celsius and Fahrenheit. With the "System Tray" option, balloon tips appear in the taskbar tray.
The "Options" button opens DiskAlarm options: run at Windows startup; show alert messages when an application is in full screen mode;
shows a button to stop or resume the alarm; load or open a sound file for the alarm; when alarm, Windows can go to sleep mode
or you can run an application; few options for the graph are also available.
Settings are automatically saved to a text file. A log file informs you of most of the DiskAlarm events (start time, temperature, alarm,
resuming from sleep...).
A graph allows you easily view changes in temperature for the selected hard drive.
Check the maximum temperature for your hard drive, mine is guaranteed up to 60°C, but with my laptop in just one hour, temperature of the HD can rise to 55/56°C ...

Select a Network Interface Card (by eg. Fast Ethernet Card, Wireless Card...), and instantly it displays the network traffic (graphic bars and animated icon if you choose this option).
The "Options" button opens NetTraffic options: run at Windows startup; bars/icon scale; max values; refresh time; you can display the speeds in window title.
With the "System Tray" option, balloon tips appear in the taskbar tray; you can choose the condition to display the message (eg. if download speed >= 1000 KB/s).
Settings are automatically saved to a text file.
